Vietnam
The coffee alone is reason enough. The cost of living is just the bonus.
The honest take
Vietnam is a country that has survived colonisation, two major wars, and reunification, and has emerged as one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic economies with apparently zero interest in slowing down. Hanoi is northern, atmospheric, and proudly political. Ho Chi Minh City (which locals still call Saigon, for what it's worth) is frenetic, entrepreneurial, and runs on motorbikes and ambition. Da Nang sits between them, on the beach, and doesn't pretend to be anything other than exactly what it is: a relaxed coastal city with fast internet and good weather. The e-visa is now a 90-day multiple-entry for most nationalities. The coffee culture is a religion. The food is extraordinary at every price point. Long-term legal stay requires some creative structuring.
